Last Post



It is with great sadness, that the family announces the passing of Gerard Kelly,
which occurred at home, Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006,
surrounded by his loving family.
Gerard passed peacefully and with the same
pride and dignity that he lived his life.
Born in Old Town, he was a son of the late
Lawrence and Louise (Ranson) Kelly. Gerard was
a veteran and served his country in Germany and Egypt He retired from the Royal Canadian Air Force after 25 years of service. He was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 62, Louisbourg His Pride and Joy was the construction of the Veterans' Memorial Park in Louisbourg.
He is survived by his loving wife, the former
Hazel Balser; one daughter, Wendy, Sydney; one y son, David, Digby; brothers, Joe (Vera), Hornes Road and Bob (Eve), Catalone; three sisters, Mary (Abe) Pelley, Cambridge, Ont. Levenia Walsh, Catalone and Sandra (Francis) Burke, New Glasgow.
Gerard is also survived by his mother-in-law' Mrs.Winona Balser, Digby; three brothers-in-law, Charlie Balser, Georges River, Willard (Debbie) Balser, Digby and Oscar n (Eleanor) Balser, Bear River; three sisters-in-law, Laura (Howard) Prime, Digby, Jean (Emanuel) T Lawrence, Halifax and Ruth Anne (Gary) Sabean, Digby and a number of nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Gerard was predeceased by his baby sister, Flora, and father-in-law, Dave Balser.

Visitation for the late Gerard Kelly will take
place tonight (Monday) from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday,
Oct. 24, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Stella Maris Church, Louisbourg.
Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct 25 2006 in Stella Maris Church, Louisbourg with Fr. Patrick O'Neill officiating.
Burial to follow in Stella Maris Parish Cemetery.
Family flowers only, donations may be made
to the Diabetic Association or a charity of choice.
